Southend Pier, the world’s longest pleasure pier, is located at the seafront of Southend on Sea in Essex, England. The pier stretches 1.33 miles (2.16 kilometers), into the Thames Estuary, it’s a major landmark in Southend-on-Sea.

Southend Pier Railway, a 3 ft (914 mm) narrow gauge railway that runs for 1.25 miles (2.01 km) along the 1.34 miles (2.16 km) length of Southend Pier, providing public passenger transport from the shore to the Pier Head. The pier train runs the entire length of the pier to the Lifeboat Museum.

Southend Cliff Lift, the historical icon in the town, is a funicular railway, constructed in 1912, operated for the first time on Bank Holiday Monday, in August. It's officially the shortest funicular railway and the only single-track funicular railway in Britain.

The Cliff Lift overlooks the pier and estuary, can accommodate up to 18 people, and has now a ramp in-situ for disabled access and pushchairs and runs between Western Esplanade and Cliffton Terrace.

Adventure Island, the UK's number No. 1 Free Admission theme park, offers over 40 rides and attractions. It is also known as one of the top five "Friendliest Park in The World" categories at the annual Amusement Today Golden Ticket Awards in September 2016.
