Door Lock Actuator | Porsche Cayenne (2003 - 2010)

On the Porsche Cayenne, it's a super common issue that the door sticks and has to be pushed in until you hear a click to open. You've probably already seen the quick "fix" for this issue, but in case you haven't, it involves adjusting the external handle cable to allow the mechanism to reset better. The real issue, however, is unfortunately rooted deeper inside the door, inside another part called the door lock actuator, which controls the lock and both handles.

In today's video, we're going to demonstrate how to remove the whole interior door panel as well as the door unit carrier, i.e. whole the assembly comprising the window frame, window, door lock actuator, wiring, steel frame, and steel inner shell, to get to the door lock actuator.

We're going to cover the parts and tools you'll need. We'll share tips on how to make the normally difficult steps easy, and tips on how to avoid mistakes. We'll point out steps where it's helpful to have a friend or neighbor help.

The procedure will be shown on the driver's side door, which will be the most involved out of all doors, but with minor differences, the rest of the doors are the same.

After replacing the door lock actuator on my driver's side door, it now behaves like a door should ,and unlocks when it should and it feels spectacular after dealing with the push in issue for a year.
