Heinous Cling and Chain Reaction are probably the two most classic climbs at Smith Rock. While the full Heinous goes at 12c, stopping at the chains half way up brings the grade down to a more accessible 12a. Not that this diminishes the head factor. As per Smith standards, Heinous Start is a full 70+ ft and only 5 bolts to work with. Full Heinous adds another 40 ft and only 3 more bolts to Heinous Start. Fortunately traffic as smoothed over the holds and made them a bit more comfortable. Full value face climbing without the pain of sharp crimps.
Just don't try climbing it on leather like myself. Good shoes make all the difference.
