Purana Qila, or the Old Fort, is a monumental piece of Delhi's rich historical tapestry, standing as a testament to the grandeur of the Mughal Empire. Located in the heart of Delhi, this ancient fortress is often referred to as the "Sixth City of Delhi" and was commissioned by the Mughal emperor Humayun in the 16th century.

A Glimpse into History
Purana Qila is not just an architectural marvel; it is a site steeped in history. The construction of the fort was initiated by Humayun, who intended it to be the core of Dinpanah, his vision for a new imperial city. However, much of the fort's current structure was completed by Sher Shah Suri, who defeated Humayun and took over the construction after reclaiming the throne. This blend of Mughal and Afghan architecture makes Purana Qila a unique historical site.
