In this video I start wiring the high voltage side of the skutt kiln I'm rebuilding. First I mount the thermocouple which will be used to read the temperature for a digital controller. Then I use high temperature wire and crimp on connectors to wire the existing thermocouples. The two elements in one ring are wired in parallel like a modern Scutt 1018 kiln. The high temperature wire is then connected with a spade terminal to two relays, one for each section. Next the relays are attached to a terminal block for the 240 volts needed using short pigtails. Finally I attach the cord to the terminal block and the ground wire.
