It's the 3rd Sunday of Advent, also known as "Gaudete" Sunday (Latin for rejoice). Joy is breaking through the darkness! The message is given by Rev. Dr. Steve Sweet, "Surprised by Joy." We are reading Luke 1:39-56, also known as the Magnificat. This morning, we hear the voice of Mary: "My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior," reminding us that joy is a choice, a decision, a change of mind that points us toward God.
Let us continue our Advent Journey with eager anticipation, preparing to welcome Christ into our hearts anew. The mystery of God's love for us is that we welcome the One who already welcomes us!
