大東亜戦争から戦後80年、レイテ沖海戦から81年、忘れられた戦場と呼ばれたレイテ島の戦いに身を投じた将兵達の足跡を辿る慰霊碑巡礼の旅パート8

捨てられた戦場カンギポット山を後にし、周辺にある慰霊碑3ヶ所で手を合わせてきました。🙏
第30師団歩兵第41連隊はレイテ島上陸後、カリガラ湾攻防に参戦し奮戦したが防衛線は突破され、2日間の戦いで戦力は半分となった。

東部ニューギニアとフィリピン、レイテ島に於いて2度全滅したことにより、悲運の部隊と呼ばれた。
歩兵第41連隊を率いた炭谷鷹義大佐は第1師団の後任としてレイテ島に残った残留部隊を率いて、最後はレイテ富士で軍旗を奉焼し自決または戦死したと言われている。

大東亜戦争末期、日本軍が隠したとされる「山下財宝」伝説が戦後80年経った今も、フィリピン各地に残っている。その価値は数十億円とも100兆円とも言われ、今も尚、多くの人が、山下財宝伝説を信じている。💰

80 Years After the War, Memorial Pilgrimage for the war dead of the Battle of Leyte Part 8. 🏝️

We left Buga-Buga Hill, which was called a forgotten battlefield, and put our hands together at three cenotaphs in the area.🙏
After landing on Leyte, the 41st Infantry Regiment of the 30th Division participated in the attack on Carigara Bay and fought hard, but their defensive line was breached and their strength was reduced to half after two days of fighting.

The regiment was called the "unlucky unit" because it was annihilated twice in Eastern New Guinea, the Philippines, and Leyte Island.

Eighty years after the war, the legend of the "Yamashita Treasure," said to have been hidden by the Japanese military at the end of the Greater East Asia War, still remains throughout the Philippines. The value of the treasure is said to be worth billions of yen or even 100 trillion yen, and many people still believe in the legend.💰
