How does sustainable packaging help the environment?

Almost everything comes in packaging. Around 300 million tonnes of plastics are produced from fossil fuels each year. And with plastic taking around 450 years to decompose, we need to find sustainable packaging solutions to protect our world for future generations.

Dan Noakes, Grand Challenge Lead for Packaging at CPI in Teesside, England, explores how biopolymers and smart labelling offer packaging solutions that reduce negative impacts on our environment.

We all have a part to play in saving our planet, but climate change won't be solved by the consumer alone. We need a top-down approach with governments and global organisations driving a circular economy.
