About La Charanga Tipica Tropical
Eduardo Aguirre, Tipica Tropical’s band leader, was one of the founding members and first band leader of the Orquesta Original de Manzanillo in Cuba, formed during the late 1950/1960's. Shortly thereafter Eduardo Aguirre left Cuba, however, the band he formed remains one of the top bands in Cuba's popular music and in Cuba's music history. Eduardo was not the only member to leave Cuba, band members Manolo Herreria (violin), Jorge Lopez (congas), Jose Garcia (vocals) and Pedro Fonseca (violin) also left the island. Eduardo went on to form a new band, "Tipica Tropical," in Los Angeles, California in 1967. In California, Tipica Tropical immediately gained popularity and was recognized with a Gold Record for their hit "Guatemala." In 1973 Tipica Tropical relocated to Miami and went on to tour throughout the state of Florida, as well as the U.S. and internationally, and record several now classic LPs. The Cuban Charanga style of music is known worldwide for its danceable melodies and enticing rhythms; Típica Tropical is one of the best performers of this classic genre much favored by dancers and listeners alike. Today Charanga Tipica Tropical continues to delight audiences with their exhilarating show wherever they perform winning over new generations to their infectious style of music.

Agrupacion de Manzanilleros Inc., is a (Non-Profit) organization in Miami, Florida. Founded in 1965 under the direction of several governing boards to date, this group aims to preserve and maintain Cuban-Manzanillero customs and culture.

The organization hosts fundraisers to collect funds to help Manzanilleros in need of assistance and also to contribute to charitable causes in the community. The main and most important event is the well-known annual "Encuentro Manzanillero" which has been held in the month of August for over 32 years at the Deauville Hotel in Miami Beach Florida. This event, which is attended by many Manzanilleros and friends of all ages, enjoys a celebration of Carnival Manzanillo, pool and beach activities during the 3 days of the event, and performances by local and international musical artists and orchestras. It is interesting to note that this event is attended by Manzanilleros and friends far and wide from different parts of the USA as well as abroad.
