STEP 1: UNBOXING
In the box I find the replica itself, a magazine, USP locking key, a hop-up adjustment key, a manual and some complementary BB’s.
STEP 2: SAFETY CHECK
Before I go any further, I will do a safety check.
STEP 3: APPEARANCE
The USP-T has a very distinct look, thanks to the raised sights and elongated threaded barrel.
This is because it is intended to be used with a suppressor or other muzzle device.
I feel that KSC should at least include a thread protector with this replica.
Since the threads on the barrel are delicate and made out of plastic.
The other plastic bit is the frame, while the slide and misc small bits are made out of metal. Or… Japanesium.
The markings on the slide and rear sight are sharp and crisp, but sadly added with white paint. Which is not very realistic, so an aftermarket slide might be necessary for the true connoisseur. There are also markings on the plastic bits, like the barrel and frame, which are molded in.
Apparently this is the american version because of obviousness.
STEP 4: FUNCTION
Let’s see how she functions.
Ok… why no pew.
It is not KSC’s fault persay. The overtravel adjustment screw is too far out, out of the box, making me feel like an idiot...
The purpose of the overtravel adjustment screw is to decrease the reset time for the trigger.
Now it is working as it should.
I have no complaints about hammer or the ambi safety decocker.
My mayor grape has to be the slide catch. When it works, it works perfectly.
The problem occurs when you tilt the replica to the left.
Who needs a slide catch anyway?
Other than this, the gun is really well made, there is a little bit of play in the slide.
But it is in my acceptable range.
Lastly the recoil spring is nice and strong.
STEP 5: REVIEW
So what is my overall impression?
Honestly, I'm really impressed! On a scale fronm real-steel to PPS, I would rate it... purple!
In the long term this replica really needs a metal outer barrel,because plastic barrel vs metal slide…
The small peeves like thread protector and slide catch was a mistake on KSC’s part, but I can easily and affordably fix that carfuffle. And there you go.
