Rules!

matches to 8 in pools, 10 in elims
double eliminations, which was awesome, not many places can pull it off but the judges were doing an awesome job of just accurately ripping through passes

3 pt for technical bonus: they wanted lock out thrusts to deep target and the like for tech bonus cuts couldn't give tech bonus
2 pt deep targets: cut/thrust to head & body
1 pt everywhere else

AB gave points to both fencers for the target they hit

the rules were fun and resulted in really close matches, I told the organizers they should make body cuts 1 point as they are very easy to game and as matches got tense that's what I began to see. I'm not a big fan of Deductive AB as it leads to fencing I personally don't enjoy, I think this was a fine compromise, and an awesome time for my last event in the states.

I am a bit biased as the organizers were my sword family and raised money for myself and my spouse to ease the pain of our embark to scotland, which they kept a big secret up until the medal ceremony. I wish I could find a video of it but no dice so far
