The King of Fighters XI: Gai Tendo Combo Video!
PLEASE READ!
A combo video featuring the underdog MMA fighter and practitioner of "Total Combat" from Buriki One, Gai Tendo.
"His fighting style, Total Combat is based on Mixed Martial Arts. He fights with chain combos of punches, elbow strikes, kicks and shin strikes." - SNK Wiki.
Synopsis: Gai Tendo, the main character from the 3D MMA fighting game, Buriki One, is a quick and hard hitting badass. His normals do a lot of damage, but his fighting style is mainly based around a system of chain combos and follow-up attacks. Just like Silber, Gai's combos are hard to set up, but not as difficult as Silber's. Gai can be put on any positon and still do well. He's a really great leader, thanks to his LDM, Grudge Match! He's possibly the most unique character in the game!
Basic information: Unlike Silber, Gai has more freedom of movement, being quick and nimble on his feet. He's an overall better character than Silber. Despite both Silber and Gai being from Buriki One, they have drastically different move sets. Gai has piles upon piles of chain attacks, with almost every attack going into another one or having a follow-up. Only a few of his chains are viable for combos, most of them starting with Standing D into Forward+C/D.
Extra notes: Lonely Ring (QCFx2+P) is a DM where Gai will pose and then glow reddish-orange. He then gains a slight boost in attack power. This DM is rarely used, but is good for when he's the last character alive with 5 bars. Rush is a really crappy DM in my opinion, because it's so hard to pull off and is really difficult to do on the right side of the screen. It's basically a Ranbu, but it's QCFx2+K and then a bunch of different directions. Its only redeeming factor is that it can be Dream Cancelled into his LDM, Grudge Match! Speaking of which, Gai Tendo is one of the best leaders in the game thanks to Grudge Match (QCFx2+E)! Gai uppercuts his opponent and sends them flying. This makes it so neither he nor the opponent can tag out in any way, and he gets access to all of his special moves without having to do the Bridge Sway (QCB+E). This makes him a fantastic leader, as it lets you single out a character you don't want being a threat later in the match, and making it so they can't escape to fight another day and possibly make a comeback.
