OpenBVE NYC: Virtual Railfanning at Myrtle / Wyckoff Avenues in 1987 !

Reviving a long-gone era of the NYC subway using OpenBVE, a simple train simulator game...

All aboard the virtual time machine and immerse yourself in the most accurate representation of one of the best and grittiest eras of the New York City Subway, with the most authentic subway sounds and realistically recreated subway cars of that notorious era !

This is 1987, and we are on the BMT Eastern Division which is home of the (J), ( L) and (M) lines.
In this video, we will be railfanning at the Myrtle / Wyckoff Avenue station, which is served by (L) and (M) trains.
We will start at the Myrtle Avenue subway station served by (L) trains, and then go up to the Wyckoff Avenue elevated station served by (M) trains and very short-lived rush hour special (R) trains to Metropolitan Avenue !
We will witness a unique variety of rolling stock of that era, ranging from the last R-16s in service to the R-42s, most of which were not yet rebuilt as part of the General Overhaul Program taking place in the late 1980s - early 1990s. (No rebuilt R42s are featured in the video)

Notes:
The last 100 cars of the R-40A order were built with a straight front end due to dangers of the original slanted front ends. The straight end design continued onto the R-42 order and as a result, both straight end R-40A (a.k.a. R-40M) and R-42 cars were visually similar and therefore very often ran together in mixed consists.
