Gulu in Northern Uganda is one of the country's fastest growing cities. But as the city grows, so does the amount of solid waste. So far, only 47% of the waste generated in the city is safely collected. The rest ends up polluting the environment.
Due to the scale and complexity of the solid waste challenges, individual actions, though important, are limited in effectiveness. The Gulu Integrated Catchment Management Partnership, supported by NatuReS, brings together stakeholders from the public, private and civil society to address the city’s solid waste management challenges jointly across sectors - and hence more effectively.
