Vikalpa (विकल्प) in Sanskrit refers to the stories we tell ourselves. Understanding vikalpas helps us be free of the stories that keep us in a box. Echo brings this into a meditative full body practice today as we let go of judgment towards ourselves and release expectations of what stories 'should' fit us. Today we do both inwards yoga and physical asanas and reflect on what stories we tell ourselves about life, release inner narratives, while opening to all of the experiences of the human condition as a holistic being.
Bringing mindfulness and intention to our daily practice, both on and off the mat, allows for integrative healing for our bodies and minds. Echo Widmer, a trauma informed tantric hatha yoga teacher, leads us through a gentle flow designed to create spaciousness for what is present while stretching our physical bodies and allowing room for integrative mental health work.
Remember to breathe deeply, listen to your body, and feel free to join Echo and make any sounds or verbal vibrations you would like during your practice to loosen and tone the autonomic nervous system with some vagus nerve stimulation, releasing stuck emotions and tensions. Exercises like these can also help to relieve and release pain in the body. Breathe through your rigidity to alchemize towards fluidity! This integrative mental health work combines with practical asanas and physical therapy for useful full body and spirit techniques. This mindful hatha yoga practice is designed to bring mental health care and wellness integration for a more healthy and holistic life.
