Richter Spielgeräte GmbH mainly uses larch (botanical name: Larix decidua) from the Alps for its play equipment. This larch grows at an altitude of 1000 to 1800 meters above sea level and comes from sustainable cultivation. But not all larches are the same: the larch used by Richter grows in the mountains from 1000 meters above sea level and is far superior to the "lowland" larch in terms of wood physics.
