Fusion 360: Hardware requirement and Performance Part01 (2020)

In this video, we will talk about Fusion 360 Performance and Hardware Requirements.

I’m going to divide this video into 2 parts:
1) In Part 1 which is this video, I’ll talk about how we can Improve Fusion Performance, and what can affect the Performance?
2) In Part 2 the next video, I’ll talk about:
Fusion 360 min. Hardware Requirements,
Troubleshooting Hardware Performance,
How to Find a New Computer​​ for Fusion 360.
And I’ll also show you a really amazing tool that will help you will all of the above.

How to improve Fusion 360 performance and what can affect the performance:
When was the last time everything worked at it should? And what happened at that time?
Example; OS Updates?, Driver Updates? Installed other Software?
Check the Task Manager for other software that may run on the background and takes extra resources.
Make sure Fusion is Excluded from any Antivirus software.
Good stable internet connection - Fusion 360 is a Cloud-based software.
All those checks are to make sure that the platform (Operating System) that Fusion is seating on is working properly.

And If everything is good so far, then we can move on to Fusion:
Start with opening another file and check if you are experiencing the same issues.
Open an older version and check how it works.
Do a Compute All to make sure everything designed as it should.
Make sure you don’t have any Warnings and/or Errors in the Timeline.
This is one of the things, that can really get you into trouble along the road and degrades the performance!
Follow Fusion 360 best practice such as; Instead of 1 sketch with many geometry profiles, divide the geometries into multiple simple sketches. It will be much easier to manage them and will improve performance.
Use the feature pattern instead of sketch patterns.
Use the Fillet feature instead of Sketch Fillet.
Avoid using Contact Set.
Create the Filets at the end if possible, and that is In order to avoid errors when the body changes!
The same goes for Joints, create Joints at the end.
Uncheck “Show Default Measurement”
