Новото Renault Clio: Пълна ли е промяната?

Супермини, субкомпактни, В-сегмент: както и да ги наречете, този тип автомобили бяха гръбнакът на автомобилна Европа през последния половин век. Те ни даваха свободата и удобството на личния автомобил, но в удобни за града размери и на много разумна цена. Напоследък обаче В-сегментът рязко оредя: коли като Ford Fiesta и Kia Rio не се правят вече, а някога могъщите VW Polo или Opel Corsa все повече отстъпват позиции на конкурентните кросоувъри. Има обаче и една кола в този сегмент, която ни най-малко не е загубила популярност: Renault Clio.

Със 17 милиона продажби на предишните пет поколения, Clio е най-успешната френска кола в историята, далеч пред Renault 5, Peugeot 206 и дори Citroen 2CV. Главните причини за това постижение бяха две: Clio винаги е било дружелюбно на вид - и също евтино. Новото, шесто поколение обаче на пръв поглед не е нито едно от двете неща. SUPERMINI, subcompact, B-segment: whatever you call them, these types of cars have been the backbone of European motoring for the past half century. They gave us the freedom and convenience of a personal car, but in city-friendly dimensions and at a very reasonable price. Recently, however, the B-segment has become increasingly rare: cars like the Ford Fiesta and Kia Rio are no longer made, and the once mighty VW Polo or Opel Corsa are increasingly losing ground to competing crossovers. However, there is one car in this segment that has not lost any of its popularity: the Renault Clio.

With 17 million sales of the previous five generations, the Clio is the most successful French car in history, far ahead of the Renault 5, Peugeot 206 and even the Citroen 2CV. The main reasons for this achievement were twofold: the Clio has always been friendly in appearance - and also cheap. However, the new, sixth generation is neither of these things at first glance.
