Thirayattam is a ritual and traditonal dance from of north kerala .it is spectacular from godness kali and vettaykorumakan, the incarnation of lord shiva. thira talking place in the shrines (kavu). kali workship and spirit. worship are the source of thirayattam and it is performed for the prosperity of the villages. there are about one hundred furious and pleasant from of god thirayattam.
The hood ,head dress ,face painting (mukhamezhuthu),breast plate ,bracelet,garlands and fabric attire of each of these kolams are distinct and meticulously crafted according to the characters presented. The instruments used are chenda ,veekkuchenda ,elathalam, and kuzhal
