Sharing my testimony of Joseph Smith - a boy in 1820 who knelt down to pray and ask God to forgive his sins and what church he should join. God, Heavenly Father, and Jesus, appeared to him to answer his prayer. God forgave Joseph and said to join none of the churches & that Joseph was called to do a special work on the earth.
A couple years later, an Angel appeared to Joseph Smith and told him about the golden plates. He led Joseph to find the plates buried in a hill and then later, God gave Joseph the power to translate the plates into English. The plates are known today as the Book of Mormon.
The Book of Mormon is the word of God. It was written by prophets of God who lived on the North American continent two thousand years ago. They are the ancestors of today’s Native Americans. It documents Jesus visiting the Americas after he was resurrected and teaching the gospel to the people here. The Book of Mormon contains the purest teachings we have of Jesus. It was not translated and passed down through generation and had things removed and taken out like the Bible. It is the purest word of God we have.
