In this video, I will show you how to prove the area of an ellipse using calculus integration. Recall that an ellipse is a regular oval shape, traced by a point moving in a plane so that the sum of its distances from two other points (the foci) is constant, or resulting when a cone is cut by an oblique plane which does not intersect the base. The area formula of an ellipse is A = pi*ab, where a and b are the length of the vertical and horizontal axes. This is an important topic for high school or university students who are taking calculus, as this question for the proof of the area of the ellipse may show up on the calculus tests. In the next video, I will show you how to prove the area of the circle. If you enjoy this video, please don't forget to share with your classmates and kindly subscribe to support my channel!
