It is reported that Tata Group is preparing to invest 90 billion dollars as part of expanding its business sector. Investments in mobile component plant, semiconductors, electric vehicles, batteries, renewable energy and e-commerce. The Tata Group will spend this amount in the period till 2027.

Tata Group’s move surpasses Mukesh Ambani’s $75 billion investment and Adani’s $55 billion investment. According to a report by The Economist, Tata Group is moving away from global presence and focusing on investments in India. 77% of Tata’s new investments are in India. Tata Group Chairman N Chandrasekaran had earlier said that companies can make gains at the global level based on their supply chain in India.

Tata manufactures some parts of the iPhone at its plant in Tamil Nadu. In addition to this, Tata held initial discussions with Taipei company Wistron to fully manufacture the iPhone. Wistron, which has a contract to manufacture the iPhone, has a plant in India. Tata may also try to acquire Wistron’s Indian unit.
Last day, Tata had announced an investment of 5000 crores in Odisha. Tata has made several announcements including an investment of Rs 75,000 crore in the green energy sector. It is reported that the defense aircraft manufacturing unit to be started by Tata along with the European aircraft manufacturing company Airbus (Airbus) will be in Maharashtra. It is reported that Maharashtra government is exerting influence for this Rs 20,000 crore project.
