Taharka Adé is an Associate Professor in the Department of Africana Studies at San Diego State University. He serves on the board of the Anthem Africology Series and is Assistant Editor for the Journal of Black Studies.
Adé is the author of W. E. B. Du Bois’ Africa: Scrambling for a New Africa, a critical Afrocentric investigation and critique of Du Bois’s writings on African history and Pan‑Africanism.
As an Africologist, his research focuses on tracing the African origins of cultural expressions among people of African descent in the Americas—from language, religion, the arts, corporeal aesthetics, to visual motifs.
