EF2000 • Campaign Day 6 / Mission 16 (Refueler Intercept)

There were several airfield strike mission planned, but I opted for a Refueler Intercept since I didn't flown that mission type in a campaign yet.

Majority of the ingress route goes through neutral Finland, so we will run radar silent, hugging terrain up to intercept point hopefully not encountering any Russian fighters.

The onlly problem is the bugged flight model I mentioned in one of the earlier videos - sometimes flight path get "stuck" and even if you try to pull up/turn your aircraft will want to travel in constant direction. I found that wiggling your throttle eventually helps to "un-stuck" the flight path. This is not a big deal when flying high, but when terrain masking, it might ruin your day. Terra Firma is unforgiving...

Anyway, we were able to get through the escorts and splash the refueler. Funnily the first S-225 took out its right wing, but the IL-78 was still able to fly with single wing.

After that the best way to bug out is to fly at around 60k feet and supercruise back home. I didn't follwed the planned egress route since it would take me over Russian space.

So it seems the campaign is over. Other flight have possibly taken out the last airfields. This early wersion didn't even have a victory screen (like TACTOM/EF2000 v2.0/SuperEF2000). There's just "War is won!" text box... a bit underwhelming. The updated versions added many more nice features - like proper debriefings, campaign stats, ability to plan your own missions, customize your loadout in the campaings and much more.

But at least I beat the campaing in this initial version - never have done it in the past, as I was already playing Super EF2000 / EF2000 v2.0.
