These Uncommon Prusik Tips Make Tarp Setups So Much Easier!

I deploy a Prusik using a method that differs from what I’ve seen in many videos I've watched. So, I wanted to share my method here on YouTube to complement my other tarp knot videos.

Why Use A Prusik when Tarp Camping?

If you're tired of your tarp sliding along the ridgeline when you’re trying to set up your tarp shelter, then this knot is the solution.

In this video, I show you a few simple, effective ways to fix your tarp in place using a Prusik knot. There is no extra gear, clips, carabiners, line-loks, or small wooden sticks required.

Once tensioned, the Prusik grips firmly, but when slack, it slides with ease to allow you to adjust the tarp position.

No matter if you drape a tarp over a ridgeline or thread it on your ridgeline using tape loops, this knot will hold the tarp in place where you want it.

Moreover, the way I show how to attach the Prusik loop to your tarp can be used with either tape loops or eyelets.

This method needs no extras like clips, karabiners, or sticks. Using sticks can damage your tarp — particularly ultralight silicone nylon models.
