This series not only tells the life story of this painter from a humble background, who even exhibited in the Blaue Reiter circle, and his family, but also looks at the local living conditions of the time and the development and history of art from the imperial era through the Weimar Republic and National Socialism to the Federal Republic of Germany. The history has been researched using historical sources and documents from the painter's estate. The newspapers cited were viewed in the town archives in Neustadt an der Weinstraße.
