After accruing an enormous debt with mafia boss, Don Manicotti; beloved clown & children's restaurateur, Wally Waffles, must now go on a hit in exchange for a clean slate.

A WORD FROM CHRIS

Originally this was actually going to be a Krusty the Clown fan film. I always loved the mature humor hidden underneath the goofy surface of the Simpsons, but the idea of Krusty being forced to go on a hit seemed too out of character for both him, and the show as a whole. Since I didn't feel like pissing off Simpsons fans, I decided to just go 100% original, and thus, Krusty the Clown became Wally Waffles.

The idea for the plot remained the same but was now a lot easier to develop, since I wasn't bound to Simpsons lore. The only element I kept from Krusty was his addiction to gambling and terrible luck with it. However, unlike Krusty, Wally Waffles is whiny and pathetic, with no backbone, and will grovel and do whatever is asked of him so long as it gets him out of an unfortunate situation.

Michael Olvera Rodriguez absolutely embodied Waffles, from his stature and body language, to his squeaky voice and comedic timing. He really made the character his own. I remember when I first spoke to him about the script, I described it as Courage the Cowardly Dog starring in Uncut Gems, which isn't what the final product looks or feels like, but it's definitely there thematically.
