Our island-resident friends Joe and Bethany took us to this amazing restaurant, literally on the side of a mountain overlooking the Atlantic ocean on the island of Sao Miguel, in the city of Ponta, Delgada in the country of Portugal.
After you reach the parking lot I t’s a mile hike on the side of the mountain to access this unique restaurant. Once you reach the front gate, you must hike down then up around the building in order to find your seating area. There is one table, and the max capacity in this restaurant is eight people.
Reservations are made online at their website, and payment is also made online prior to your visit. 
It’s a five course meal with dessert and drinks all included. The entire dining experience takes more than three hours. The food is amazing, and the views are incredible.
All drinks, and all meals, are the same for every diner at this restaurant. There are no menus, there is no ordering. The courses are decided by the chef and host based on their inventory.
All vegetables served are grown along the mountainside by the owner, or wildly hand picked off the cliffs of the Azore islands. Meats are picked up at the local market.
This a once in a lifetime experience for those visiting the islands of Açores Portugal, and definitely one that will retain in my memories for life.
