When laundry starch is hard to find, make Papier Mâché Pulp with Liquid Starch from Corn Starch. Follow instructions on the container or see my video link below. Then, mix it with absorbent paper pulp to create a clay-like product that’s ready for sculpting. Go beyond the starch to explore the possibilities❣️

There’s a difference between ready-made liquid starch and home-made. Commercial liquid starch (stiffener for laundry) is processed with preservative ingredients. Whereas, corn starch is a powdered (food) product that is a thickening agent. This means that your liquid can be boiled to a thicker consistency, according to your needs.
♦️Please Note: it’s best to make your papier mâché mix in small batches that will not go to waste. This pulp mix may lose its adhesive qualities or spoil if not used within a short time period. It can be refrigerated but it’s good to experiment and find what works best for you.
