Abstract:-
Holography, the idea that a theory of quantum gravity naturally lives in one lesser dimension, has played a crucial role in our pursuit of a fundamental theory of nature. The AdS/CFT correspondence has given us a concrete setting to explore this idea. In this talk, I will review the progress made in understanding holography using tools from quantum information theory. A key role is played by tensor networks which serve as toy models of holography and elucidate the emergence of spacetime from entanglement. I will review the close connection between tensor networks and gravity via the concept of fixed-area states. I will discuss various applications of this connection including a calculation of the Page curve of black hole evaporation and dualities between various entanglement measures and their corresponding geometric manifestations.
