Most people will do just fine with a well-selected store-bought cactus mix to plat their desert plants in. However, if you want to take your cactus care to the next level, you should really be making your own mix.
In this video, I introduce my favorite store-bought cactus mix, then I show you how to make a foundational cactus mix that you can modify to fit your needs.
*Quick Clarification: at 04:00 I said that perlite is baked pumice. In a way that is near the truth, however perlite is actually heated, expanded volcanic glass, while pumice is naturally occurring volcanic stone.
