Koroma honoured the police summons, which came amid investigations into the incident. The former president's appearance follows the earlier arrest of his former security guard, Amadu Koita, who is currently in police custody.
The failed coup attempt involved dozens of gunmen who attacked Sierra Leone's capital, leading to the breach of the nation's key armoury and the release of over 2,000 inmates from a prison. During the attack, a bodyguard of the former president lost his life. The investigations aim to unravel the details and individuals involved in the coup plot.
