Part Two: Soft pastel resist series on the gel plate! –Tutorial Tidbits

This week is Part 2 of my pastel resist series on the gel plate! Last time, I used Conté Crayons—this time I’m experimenting with soft pastels, and the results are totally different (in the best way).

These buttery pastels create a beautiful low-relief rubbing effect when used with a stencil, and just like before, they resist Golden Fluid Acrylic in metallic gold. The final prints have soft texture, delicate detail, and that gorgeous shimmer from the metallic paint.
