On Saturday, April 19th, Gendo Taiko performed Shunpuu in our annual 2025 Spring Show, Uproar.
Composed by Yuta Sumiyoshi, inspired by the poem "Shunpuu ya, toshi idakite, oka ni tatsu," a haiku by Kyoshi Takahama (Translation: Spring wind, fighting spirit, standing thus on a hill). The haiku is filled with determination that gives the reader a sense of bravery, Sumiyoshi aiming to empower and invigorate those that play and listen to it.
