Bringing League Champions to 2XKO’s Art Style – Super Art Power Hour Ep. 11

Katarina was shelved in 2XKO (for now), but we were curious, what would it take to bring her up to 2XKO’s current art style? Way back in 2019–when the game was still called Project L–we showed glimpses of Katarina, Darius, and Ahri. One art style, 300 genres, and 11 live Champions later we asked concept lead Knight Zhang: How would you bring Katarina into 2XKO?

It’s Episode 11 of Super Art Power Hour, and we’re diving into Riot’s new fighting game with a special Halloween feature including witches, ghosts, and possibly possessed owls. As Knight draws this unique take on the Noxian assassin, she’ll take you through the whole concept art process from rough sketch, through posing, to a finished illustration of the blade-wielding acrobat.

This is Super Art Power Hour, so nothing in this video is actually shipping to players. While you won’t be seeing a new character here, you will get a full look at Knight’s step-by-step decisions when creating new concept art while she drops some knowledge around creating fighting game art, prioritizing gameplay clarity through character readability, and adapting a League Champion to 2XKO.
