SC Department of Public Health confirmed measles outbreak

As of Wednesday, there have been eight cases of measles reported, but what’s concerning doctors is the rapid uptick in cases. Five of those eight cases were reported in just over a week.

“There is a high risk for continued rapid spread of the disease, especially in the upstate among communities with low immunization rates,” Health Programs Branch Director Dr. Linda Bell said.
