This is a small painting study of Edgar Payne's trees.

3. He's a master of conveying depth.That large value range gives him plenty of room to convey the sense of depth in his painting.
Edgar Alwin Payne (1 March 1883 – 8 April 1947) was an American painter. He was known as a Western landscape painter and muralist.
