In veterinary school, we were shown videos narrated by Temple Grandin that claimed pigs were slaughtered “humanely.” But when we saw 16 hours of undercover footage from inside a Smithfield slaughterhouse, we realized the truth was far more disturbing.
Inside carbon dioxide gas chambers, pigs don’t just fall asleep — they suffocate, burn, panic, and scream.
