SUMMIT CAMPING on CARNEDD LLEWELYN | Otimos X-Lite Nomad & Hilleberg Soulo

In this video, we venture back up onto the Carneddau for a summit camp on Carnedd Llewelyn. The previous night we camped on Garnedd Ugain so we thought it would be better if we headed up onto a different mountain range for the second night. After spending 45 minutes trying to find a parking spot in the Ogwen Valley, we eventually started our adventure at the side of the A5 and started making our way towards the start of the route. The route started on a very steep road which led up towards a reservoir called Ffynnon Llugwy with the summit of Pen yr Helgi Du to our right. The road eventually veered off onto a path which ended up being very steep with a few sections involving scrambling. As we headed past these sections, we knew there was only around 100m left until we hit the summit. After some well needed snacks which consisted of haribos and white chocolate buttons, we started the last push up to the summit. It’s safe to say we couldn’t wait to pitch the tents because the conditions were looking unbelievable. Snowdonia has treated us to another inversion with what looked like a crazy sunset on the way. The drones immediately got sent up into the air and the action camera got setup for a timelapse. That sunset was up there with some of the best I’ve ever seen. It was mind blowing. After demolishing some food, we decided it was time to hit the sack. The inversion had stuck around all night but there was some wind forecast for the afternoon so we weren’t sure how long it would stick around for. We packed away the tents and started to make our way back down to the car. Looking back at those two camps, I don’t think we will get a weekend like that for a very long time. Unbelievable from start to finish but unfortunately, all good things come to an end eventually. I hope you enjoyed watching and I will catch you on the next adventure.
