Originally released in hit album MCMXC A.D. from electronic music pioneer Michael Cretu's (AKA "Curly M.C.") musical project Enigma (with David Fairstein and Frank Peterson) in 1990; sold over 4 million copies worldwide. It was the second part of the trilogy Sadeness (part II - Find Love) in the album. Later released as a single named "Principles of Lust" in the same year, with vocals from Sandra "Cretu", stayed many weeks in the charts as well.

As the "Sadeness (part I)" hit #1 in the singles charts, it sold over 12 million copies and earned over 50 platinum awards. Made the Enigma the most successful act signed by Virgin at the time.
