Band Crew Member Lucky Luxiano explains the notorious group Band Crew and its history in Detroit. In this talk. We discuss the beginning of Band Crew and how it was comprised of multiple groups. How the group was initially supposed to be making music, but controversy lead them to committing crimes that they would eventually fall from. The group was notorious for stealing from civilians, including: watches, cars, glasses, clothes, money etc. But they would also create a list of felonious crimes that would get many members of Band Crew indicted. Eight members of Band Crew, a northwest Detroit street gang, were charged in an indictment unsealed with various offenses based on their roles in gang-related attempted life charges, robberies and assaults. The charges are the result of the Detroit One initiative, a collaborative effort between law enforcement and the community to reduce violent crime in Detroit. Band Crew," also known as "22 Band Crew" and "BC," was a street gang whose base of operation was primarily in northwest Detroit,the area in and around Seven Mile Road, with Southfield Freeway to the west, Puritan Avenue to the south, Eight Mile Road to the north, and Greenfield Road to the east. Band Crew members claimed this area as their territory. Band Crew members wrote gang-related graffiti on buildings in their territory, including markings such as "#22 BandCrew," "BAND CREW," "22 2 22 BAND CREW," "YNCMH," and "PBF.", Band Crew was an association of existing smaller gangs called Constantly Making Hundreds (CMH, formerly Cash Money H***), Young N Crispy (YNC), Pushit (or Pusha) Boy Family (PBF), and Family Over Everything Love is Forever (FOE Life). As an association of smaller gangs, Band Crew did not have a formal hierarchical structure apart from having leaders of each subgroup who were known as "CEOs" and "Co-CEOs."
