Bringing a Kawasaki Mule 3010 Back to Life (Start to Finish)

Some days on a homestead don’t go according to plan. I headed down to the wellhouse ready to clean up and prep for milling, only to realize my Kawasaki Mule 3010, one of the most-used tools on the property, was still out of commission. Between broken equipment, delays, and feeling rough myself, this turned into a very different kind of workday.

This Kawasaki Mule 3010 has been sitting for about a year, and every time I needed it, I kept putting the repair off. Today was the day. In this video, I walk through the real-world troubleshooting process of getting an old farm mule running again—from a completely dead battery, to tearing down and cleaning the carburetor, to chasing fuel issues that weren’t immediately obvious.

Along the way, I explain what I’m checking, why I’m checking it, and what I’m seeing in real time—no shortcuts and no pretending to be a mechanic. If you’re dealing with small engines that won’t stay running, fuel delivery problems, or equipment that’s been parked too long, this process will look very familiar.

Once the new fuel pump was installed, the Kawasaki Mule finally came back to life and has been running reliably since. Of course, fixing one problem always reveals the next, and now dry-rotted tires are on the list—but that’s just part of homestead life.
