Workers who chose to walk or cycle or crowd railways stations in the hope of getting back home were ‘a bit impatient’ and they should have waited, union minister Narendra Singh Tomar has said. In an interview to BBC's Jugal Purohit, the minister who holds the charge for the ministries of Agriculture, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj was asked if the government had anticipated the migrant crisis before implementing the lockdown and whether or not the current scenes of desperation reflected a failure to plan or implement the strategy?
