Anton R. Tajanlangit, pianist, plays the guitar piece "Spanish Romance." Who composed it is widely disputed and has been attributed to at least 8 composers. It is sometimes called "Forbidden Games" after the 1952 film in which it was heard, claimed to have been written by Narciso Yepes. However a 1941 film, Blood And Sand, had the music in it as claimed to be composed by Vicente Gomez. Guitar students will however be more familiar with it as Antonio Rubira's "Estudio en Mi de Rubira" (Study in E by Rubira). The style of the piece is that of parlour music in 19th century Spain, having a closed three-part form: the first in the minor key, the second in the major key, and the third a restatement of the first.
