Alfa Revival Cup 2025: an epic season

The 2025 Alfa Revival Cup Championship season concluded after six thrilling rounds, crowning Peter Bachofen and Dario Inhelder at the wheel of their Alfa Romeo GTAm #85 for Team Alfa Delta OKP. The Swiss crew were consistent and decisive throughout the year, clinching the overall title at the final round in Spa-Francorchamps. Team Alfa Delta OKP also took victory in the teams’ standings.

The Alfa Revival Cup awards prizes across various classes, with cars divided by historical period and type: Marco Milla won H1 TC 1600 in his Giulia Super #220, while Andre Kardol took H2 TC 2000 in his GT Veloce 2000 #151.

In the Performance Index standings, which equalises the different performances of the various cars by applying a coefficient to race results, Peter Bachofen and Dario Inhelder #85 also came out on top, ahead of Alberto Franceschetti #27 and Hans Luginbühl #93, both from Team Formula GT.

The 2025 season began at the Red Bull Ring with a commanding performance from Davide Bertinelli of Team Gatti, who opened the season with a convincing victory, confirming his status as favourite ahead of the duo Mario Salomone-Giacomo Barri and Ambrogio Perfetti. Peter Bachofen and Dario Inhelder, making their seasonal debut, finished sixth.

At Vallelunga, the crowd witnessed a spectacular finish: Ronnie Kessel snatched victory from Daniele Perfetti with a last-corner overtake in one of the most hard-fought races of the year. Christian Oldendorff of Team Fernandes took third place. Peter Bachofen and Dario Inhelder collected valuable points once again, finishing sixth. Davide Bertinelli was absent, attending the birth of his latest child.

At Misano, Davide Bertinelli dominated once again, repeating his opening success in Austria. Behind him came Ambrogio Perfetti in second place, with Bernhard Laber and Lukas Stojetz completing the podium in third, followed across the line by Peter Bachofen and Dario Inhelder.

In the fourth round at Imola, Davide Bertinelli underlined his competitiveness with another superb race, seemingly steering the Championship towards his retention of the title. He finished ahead of Alexander Furiani in second place, with Peter Bachofen and Dario Inhelder securing their first podium and strengthening their points tally, even if Bertinelli appeared unstoppable.

The fifth round at Mugello turned the championship on its head. Taking full advantage of the technical difficulties that struck Davide Bertinelli, Ambrogio Perfetti took victory, followed by Peter Bachofen and Dario Inhelder, who reignited their title challenge with this result and kept the championship wide open heading into the finale at Spa-Francorchamps. Emanuele Benedini and Antonio Crescenti finished third.

In Belgium, the tension erupted from qualifying onwards, with Davide Bertinelli’s dramatic withdrawal following an unfortunate off at Blanchimont corner that ruled him out of the race. The battle on the treacherous, part-wet asphalt of Spa-Francorchamps was intense, but Ambrogio Perfetti emerged victorious once again, securing his second consecutive win ahead of his brother Daniele, demoted to second for a penalty, and Roberto Restelli in third. Peter Bachofen and Dario Inhelder, aware of the title opportunity presented by the absence of their direct rival Davide Bertinelli, drove a measured race to sixth place, collecting the crucial points that crowned them Alfa Revival Cup 2025 Champions ahead of Davide Bertinelli and Mario Salomone and Giacomo Barri.

A thrilling and intense season, which saw different winners emerge and rewarded the consistency and determination of the Swiss crew, alongside the strength of Team Alfa Delta, who also dominated the teams’ standings. Always finishing and collecting points proved the most effective way to demonstrate talent and consistency, a tactic that delivered success. The Alfa Revival Cup confirms its position as the benchmark for historic racing competitions dedicated to Alfa Romeo’s racing cars, combining passion, competition and spectacle on some of Italy and Europe’s most celebrated circuits.
