In this episode of Canadian Justice we discuss new proposed law that has been introduced by the federal Mark Carney government – Bill C-8, An Act respecting cyber security. This is a reboot of a Trudeau era bill, C-26. And it has some civil liberties experts concerned that the bill could violate privacy rights and lead to increased state surveillance.
Host Christine Van Geyn interviews leading experts about their concerns, and is joined by Matt Hatfield from OpenMedia and Tamir Israel from the Canadian Civil Liberties Association.
