On September, 2nd, 2013 - I decided to spend the morning at Ridgefield Park, NJ on the CSX River-Subdivision. While I was on my way I received a message about CSX K684 leaving Selkirk, NY with a set of CN & BC Rail C40-8M's. I knew everything about this train two days in advance but the train was outlawed the whole time in Buffalo, NY because of signaling work being performed on the CSX Mohawk-Subdivision. The previous night the signal work had let up just a bit and a couple of CSX freight trains had been able to sneak their way over the CSX Mohawk-Sub including CSX K684.
The morning rush-hour was pretty much all but gone by the time I pulled into Ridgefield Park, NJ but by this point I was joined by Philip (TheFlagman2) and together we waited for the train to come through. Nothing was going to come for the next 3 hours which wasn't really surprising and we knew that, all we knew was that the train was below (CP-90) Kingston, NY. Later the two of us heard a boating accident occurred by Marlboro, NY and that train traffic was halted for emergency crews but luckily we heard that our train was below that around (CP-41) Iona Island, NY on the move. Later it got to (CP-7) Bogota, NJ and than cleared us at Ridgefield Park, NJ.
