What’s Wrong With Photo Vlogs — and Why I Film Differently

In this video I hike near Ben Nevis in the Scottish Highlands and share my thoughts on why I don’t enjoy making traditional photography vlogs. Instead of documenting every technical step or composition decision, I focus more on the landscape itself — the silence, the walk, the weather, and the personal inner process behind making images.
For me, photography is introspective. It’s something I do quietly, not something I want to perform for the camera. In this film I explain why my videos are nature-led rather than vlog-led, and why I want viewers to feel the environment instead of watching me talk about exposure settings.
If you enjoy more reflective, nature-forward photography films, feel free to subscribe for future hikes, quiet photography trips, and work made in wild places.
