My First Race in Cat 4… at the Kentucky State Championship

This one was special, my first race in Cat 4, and it just happened to be the Kentucky State Championship.
Trying a Cat 4 race is a big step, and I wasn’t sure what to expect lining up against stronger, faster riders on race day. The pace, the tactics, and the pressure were all different this time.
Unfortunately, my Insta360 died mid-race, so I couldn’t capture everything I wanted, but the experience itself made up for it. This wasn’t about crazy breakaways or insane sprints… it was about testing myself in a tougher category and seeing how I stacked up at state champs.
