STONE TEMPLE PILOTS — "VH1 STORYTELLERS" [Full Performance in Dolby Atmos] | STP Legacy Remaster On March 8, 2000, Stone Temple Pilots took the stage at Metropolis Studios in New York City for a rare and intimate taping of VH1 Storytellers. Blending acoustic arrangements with candid storytelling, this performance marked their first public concert since 1997, and offered fans a glimpse into the emotional and creative heart of the band.
Now, this legendary session has been remixed in Dolby Atmos by STP Legacy, transforming the original stereo broadcast into a fully immersive experience. From whispered verses to thunderous choruses, every nuance is brought to life in cinematic spatial detail.
🛠️ Audio Restoration Notes: This remaster began with the original mono source broadcast, a rare format for live sessions of this era. While limiting initial channel separation, the mono recording preserved a raw and intimate room character. Through detailed phase correction, dynamic enhancement, and spatial upmixing using Dolby Atmos tools, we’ve expanded the soundstage while honoring the original acoustic texture.
🎧 Spatial mix derived from mono broadcast, restored and enhanced with Dolby Atmos tools.

On March 8th, 2000, the American rock band Stone Temple Pilots' special aired on VH1 Storytellers. The special featured many of the bands hits up to that point done acoustically, as well as the band answering questions between songs. The concert is notable because it features the only known pro-shot version of the band's song "Atlanta", which has not been played live by the band since early 2002. While most of the show was broadcast on VH1, much like the band's Rolling Rock Show, several songs are missing that have ever surfaced online or elsewhere. Scott talks about his recent well-publicised legal and substance problems, as well as painful relationship situations, which included an abortion.
Missing Songs
The songs "Down", "Creep", and "Trippin' on a Hole in a Paper Heart" were performed at this show but were not included in the broadcast version shown on VH1. They have never surfaced online or elsewhere. It is also noteworthy that only the final chorus to the opening song, "Big Empty" was broadcast. The rest of the song has never surfaced.
The full setlist for the show is as follows:
Big Empty

Interstate Love Song

On June 2nd, 2018, YouTube user BelowEmpty uploaded a nearly two-hour video of the band's performance including outtakes, Q&A and the songs that didn't make it aired.
🎤 Includes Q&A segments with the band, stories behind the songs, and rare acoustic takes—like the haunting rendition of “Atlanta,” never performed live again after 2002.
🪶 A must-watch for fans of STP’s lyrical depth and sonic evolution—now reborn in immersive audio.
